Fabric Facts

Like most of us, "Torch" the founder of Torch Wear, grew up wearing heavy leather welding jackets and well-known FR "greens." It was all that was on the market at the time. They were hot. They didn't breathe. And in some cases, they didn't offer much protection.

In the last decade flame-resistant fabric has advanced tremendously. The old standbys of NOMEX®, INDURA® and FR-treated cotton have been surpassed by fabrics like CarbonX® and Valen-T with TW-55, which offer more protection against direct flame, extreme heat and molten metals.
